    [overview]

This new to market Australian Certified Organic product from an Australian supplier, with produce grown right here in beautiful Oz in the glorious Byron Bay region. It's an area known worldwide not only for it's glorious beaches and scenery, and for attracting holidaying celebrities, but perhaps moreso locally for it's advocacy towards environmental protection as well as alternative health, and healthy/organic living/lifestyle advantages.

Direct from their website, here's the truth about how good hemp seeds are for us...

Hemp Seeds are also known as hemp hearts. Dehulled hemp seeds or hulled hemp seeds are the number 1 product from this amazingly versatile plant. Hemp seeds contain high quantities of the digestible protein (contains all 10 essential amino acids) and the omega-3, omega-6 and omeg-9 and GLA essential fatty acids. In this form hemp seeds are non-germinating yet fully digestible without soaking (unlike most nuts and seeds).

The seeds are Australia Certified ORGANIC, RAW, VEGAN and GLUTEN-FREE. Used around the world in a myriad of recipes, the hulled hemp seeds are also soft enough to rub on your skin as an omega-3 essential fatty acid exfoliant!

The packs are vacuum sealed on the farm to ensure the freshest product comes to you direct from Australian Industrial Hemp Farmers. Store in an airtight container in the refridgerator once opened.

    Uses

Eat them just as they are, or in smoothies, in cereals, in salads, wraps/sandwiches, in baking, in snacks, in trail mix, in yoghurts, in omeletes, in fact you could try them in just about anything you could imagine. They taste great, are delicious, are versatile, are of the highest quality, and are not irradiated.

And the seeds taste WAY better than hemp seed oil that's for sure, and they are less likely to go rancid like the oil can quickly do. What a great way to get some super healthy Omega 3's and if you suffer from cold sores or herpes virus, these hulled hemp seeds are known to be rich in L-Lysine, an amino acid that is helps combat herpes symptoms. Hemp seeds are also known to support healthy skin making them great for all the family, and a superfood we can enjoy every day!

    Personally ...

I use them as an energy source snack when I'm training, in kid's lunches every day, in salads, in smoothies, in protein ball mixes, banana bread, omeletes, over dinners ... and in anything else I can find a way to incorporate them into, to be honest! We'd have them several times a day. I've cut back on kid's krill oil supplement as a result. Because of my Crohn's disease I still take my usual 1000iu krill oil (for inflammation, and Omega 3 boost) and also enjoy as many hemp seeds as I can find a way to consume every day. Yours in health, Carole =) X
